No browsing history collected
SpeedPilot never records which sites you visit or what you watch.
No analytics, no trackers
No usage analytics, ads, or third-party scripts are bundled with the extension.
Local-first storage
Settings and site rules live in your browser's local extension storage by default.
Sync is opt-in and explicit
Turning on sync mirrors only settings and site rules — never browsing data — and it's off unless you enable it.
Why each permission is requested
Reviewed one by one before shipping — nothing broad is requested just because it’s convenient.

host permissions (http/https)A universal speed controller has to be able to reach media on any site you visit — this is the one broad permission SpeedPilot genuinely needs. It's also what makes reading the active tab and messaging its content script work without a separate activeTab grant, since that permission adds nothing once broad host access already exists. Nothing else is requested.
